
📣Reminder: All Monongalia County Schools will dismiss 2 hours early on Friday, August 29th. Schools and offices will be CLOSED on Monday, September 1st in observance of Labor Day.

Mrs. Nutter's math classes made spaghetti and marshmallow towers. They had a $400 budget to buy spaghetti and marshmallows. The goal was to stay within the budget and build the tallest freestanding tower in the allotted time frame while working as a team.

Our new 6th graders learned about our school-wide expectations and incentives program called The Herd.

☀️⛰️Summer Avalanche Session 2 starts Monday, July 14! Check the Summer Programs page on the MCS website for details, transportation schedules and more!

Camp will offer an opportunity to interact with and be coached by the current MHS Coaching staff, players, and alumni. Participants will be introduced to speed & agility training, offensive, defensive, and special teams fundamentals. Players will be tested in combine drills and work on individual position drills, as well as participate in small group and team drills.
Instructions for our camp:
Check-ins will take place 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm; Camp starts at 5:30
Wear athletic clothes and tennis shoes or cleats
Bring a water bottle

South Cross Country Flex Days

South is excited to welcome this year's volleyball coaches- familiar faces to our community! Heather Nestor will be leading our Varsity team, and Angel Conley will be heading up JV. Both bring energy and a deep connection to South.
Flex days will begin soon! Reminder: All athletes must have a physical dated after May 1, 2025, in hand to participate.
We're looking forward to a great season ahead - Go South!

Ms. Nestor's class ended the year with a lab called "Let it Fly". Students researched, built and tested a paper airplane they designed.

Everyone had a great time at our PBIS Rewards today. Students purchased different levels of rewards with their PBIS Points. Everyone participated and had fun! Thank you to all our staff for making today such a wonderful, fun day!
