Future Morgantown High School Families,
Morgantown High School looks forward to meeting with you and your child through numerous opportunities to ensure you are informed of our expectations for the upcoming school year. Morgantown High School is an excellent school that is rich in many traditions. We cannot wait to see what your child contributes to MHS and the greater community during high school.
The first major step in preparation for the 9th grade year is high school scheduling during their last year of middle school. Our middle school scheduling process will begin the week of February 2, 2026. Please read the information below to see the scheduling timeline.
Please spend some time with your child reviewing pertinent information on the Morgantown High School scheduling website. Visit mohigans.mono.k12.wv.us à Click Menu à Click MHS Scheduling Website under Students section.
*Please be sure to click the section titled All Rising 9th Grade Students.
February 4, 2026
MHS Middle School Parent Night
Location: MHS Cafeteria
Date: February 4, 2026 (if cancelled due to weather, February 5, 2026)
Doors Open at 5:15 pm
Presentation Time: 5:30 – 6:30 pm
February 5, 2026: Morgantown High School counselors will visit South and Suncrest Middle during the school day to do presentations with the 8th grade students. They will learn more about the high school schedule, MHS traditions, and freshmen classes during this presentation.
February 6 & 10: The middle school counselors will visit 8th grade science classes to review information provided by MHS. We will begin filling out the scheduling paperwork. A scheduling packet will get sent home with your child on either the 6th or 10th, depending on which day your child has science class.
February 17: All scheduling forms, completed with parent/guardian and student signatures, are due back to your child’s science teacher.
Your child will be paired with the same high school counselor for all four years of high school based on last name. There will be several opportunities to meet the high school counselors prior to the start of next school year. For now, any scheduling questions should be directed to Mr. Joshua Underdonk, Assistant Principal, via email at junderdonk@k12.wv.us
Your students will be scheduled based on their iReady scores that they have earned during the 25-26 school year. You will receive this information once it is processed from the Board of Education to Morgantown High School. Again, we encourage you to work with your child to determine appropriate high school classes. Students who choose more advanced courses, like Honors or Advanced Placement (college level) courses, must read through the AP and Honors agreement form on the scheduling packet. Some of these courses require a summer assignment.
If you wish to reach out to your middle school counselors regarding scheduling please see their contact information listed below:
Ms. Crystal Moore, Students who have Ms. Beck for Science: cmmoore@k12.wv.us
Ms. Lauren Underdonk, Students who have Ms. Nestor for Science: lauren.underdonk@k12.wv.us
*Please note that inclement weather could change the above scheduling dates. If there are changes, families will be notified by Schoology, School Messenger, or Remind.
We look forward to working together to transition your child into the Mohigan family!
