Students have fun painting in Mrs. Nutter's Crafting Club.

Mr. Overstreet's classes worked with WVDE Technical Assistance Center from WVU to design and create Scribbling Wiggle Bots.

Thank you WV Speakers Bureau for arranging John Ebert to come speak to us. Mr. Ebert owns 39 McDonald’s franchises and is the 11th largest operator in the US McDonald’s system. He purchased his first store in July of 1990 in Bridgeport, WV.

As a school, we collected 740 items to donate to our local food pantries (Pantry Plus and Scotts Run Settlement House) in our Soup for the Soul Drive!

Ms. Shumaker's class was using their prior knowledge to classify items as either "living" or "non-living". They were formulating a claim based on comparing/contrasting living and non-living things.

Mr. Overstreet's classes built towers and made posters about The American Sign Language this week.

Students in Ms. Garcia's Spanish classes participated in some Spanish dancing last week.

South would like to thank Amber Nichols from the K-12 Speakers Bureau. Today Ms. Nicholas spoke to our 7th and 8th grade students about how becoming a teacher is like being a super hero. Ms. Nicholas taught at Eastwood Elementary in Monongalia County and was the 2023 West Virginia Teacher of the Year.

Red Ribbon Week is a drug and violence prevention awareness campaign that occurs in October. Monday, October 28, all Grade levels attended a presentation given by Mark Trump, a Detective with the Morgantown Police Department . He is assigned to the DEA Task Force Group to investigate drug crimes. Detective Trump discussed the dangers associated with vaping.

Today our 8th grade learned about WV snakes. Some of us were brave enough to hold one!

Today students from Mrs. Rowan's class presented the results from their Science Projects.

Mr. Sears WV Studies class began their study of WV cryptids by creating their own unique creatures! They then participated in a game to determine the king of monsters! Winners were converted into 3D print models.

The staff and students both love Ms. Stenson's Stallion Brew.
Staff can place an order and Ms. Stenson's class prepares and delivers the order.

Book Tasting
Students in Mrs. Brown's class read a book for a short amount of time and rated it. They sampled a variety of books and shared what they liked about each of them. This allowed them to preview books to see if any peaked their interest.
