
Students in Ms. Christoff's class made 3D ornaments this week.

Today our Speakers Bureau presenter was Dr. Yoav Kaddar. He is the director of the WVU Dance Program, the WVU Summer Dance Academy. He received his BFA from The Juilliard School, his MFA from University of Washington, Seattle, and his PhD in Educational Administration from the University at Albany, NY. He has been a member of leading US modern dance companies performing around the country and abroad. Dr. Kaddar has choreographed over 70 works for dance and theatre, is a Fulbright Scholar, and teaches nationally and abroad. He has been a member of the American College Dance Association Board of Directors, served on the US Fulbright Selection Committee for the Arts and is the President of the National Dance Education Organization. Dr. Kaddar is the new Dean of the WV Governor’s Honors Academy hosted as of this summer on the WVU campus.

Today some 7th graders made Gingerbread houses in their PBIS Reward Room.

South students had a great time attending the WVU Women's Basketball Game today as our 2nd quarter PBIS Reward Trip.

Mr. Overstreet's classes worked with WVDE Technical Assistance Center from WVU to design and create Scribbling Wiggle Bots.

Thank you WV Speakers Bureau for arranging John Ebert to come speak to us. Mr. Ebert owns 39 McDonald’s franchises and is the 11th largest operator in the US McDonald’s system. He purchased his first store in July of 1990 in Bridgeport, WV.

As a school, we collected 740 items to donate to our local food pantries (Pantry Plus and Scotts Run Settlement House) in our Soup for the Soul Drive!

Ms. Shumaker's class was using their prior knowledge to classify items as either "living" or "non-living". They were formulating a claim based on comparing/contrasting living and non-living things.

Mr. Overstreet's classes built towers and made posters about The American Sign Language this week.
